In 2020 I ran a pilot (online) with a fantastic group of children who had not yet started school. The aim was to show parents how to screen their child for dyslexia and offer an intervention. Lara was lucky enough to have been born with a brain 'wired' to read and spell, and so her orthographic learning journey was relatively easy. She also has a supportive and involved family with a shared passion for learning, who understood my work, and why I want all children to be reading for pleasure by the age of 6. Not all children are this lucky. That's why I led the pilot, and am working on EDSLiP. (Early Dyslexia Screening and Literacy Intervention Project) - we must identify children 'at risk' of reading and spelling difficulties, and start the intervention before they even start school (and get lost in a system that fails too many children who learn differently) Miss Emma
